Playing piano from age 3, first concert at 10 and first tour at 18, Red has worked with an eclectic roster of artists and put together his own groups that involve his various skills and talents as performer, keyboardist, vocalist, arranger and bandleader. RED on vocals, piano & organ, with drums, bass and 5 horns doing Ray Charles, Jimmy Witherspoon, Percy Mayfield, Count Basie, Charles Mingus and original material by Red Young.  

His latest album “Live From Austin” vol. 1 & 2, recorded at his residency at the famed club Antones in Austin, TX has taken Red to Delbert McClinton’s Sandy Beach Cruise, Ottawa Bluefest, Las Vegas Big Blues Bender and Caloundra festival in Australia as well as dates in California.
