Red Young Quintet

The Red Young Quintet first played together as a unit in 2016 and immediately got a great response from audiences. With Red Young/piano and keyboards, Brannen Temple/drums, Nick Clark/bass, Andre Hayward/trombone and Mike Malone/tenor & soprano saxophone, it is an exciting musical journey every time these musicians play together. The music includes a wide variety of material – from obscure songs by artists such as Wayne Shorter, Joseph Zawinul, Crusaders, Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderly as well as originals by band members, it is a very powerful group of musicians . Playing regularly at the Elephant Room in Austin they will be recording their first album in 2017.
