April 19th, 2016

Red has performed on Hammond organ since the late 1960’s.   His organ groups feature Red on Hammond B3 Organ and vocals, with drums and depending on the room, one to two horns: one or two tenor saxophones, one saxophone and one trumpet or one saxophone and one trombone. He plays everything from Bebop to Soul Jazz including many songs from the organ greats – Jimmy Smith, Charles Earland, Richard ‘Groove’ Holmes, ‘Brother’ Jack McDuff, and including War, Isaac Hayes, Barry White blues and many others.  A very big sound from a small group.
